Sege Safari is an Afrobeat musician who began his artistic career at a very tender age. He started out as a recording musician in 2008 with a single ‘odigbere’. After he became the chairman of PMAN Ikeja zone in 2009 he recorded more songs and performed for the first time at the twelfth year remembrance of late Fela Anikulapo Kuti at the New Afrikan Shrine with standing ovation from expatriates and Nigerians.
Sege Safari performed at the World Music Day in 2010 before engaging in Lagos/Ogun states tour in December 2010 in preparation for the the 2011 Nigeria General election. The tour was sponsored by the Lagos State government, United Nations Development Project (UNDP) and Voters Awareness Initiatives an NGO.
Sege Safari also won BBC Media Award in 2012 and remain the only media professional who performed his song at the award ceremony. Same year 2012, he performed at Eniobanke Art Center owned by Beautiful Nubia in Ikeja G.R.A. Lagos at the Emufest 2012. Sege Safari later in 2013 performed alongside female juju maestro St. Janet at Zest International hotel Akoka. Sege Safari is a composer, songwriter, performer, director, producer, a multi instrumentalist, singer, trainer, a comedian and someone who is called “Fela’s present tense.”
